The other night I had the opportunity to photograph my mother on her birthday. (Such a treat!)

I took her a bit out of her comfort zone, placed her in front of my lens, and lucked out on a gorgeous evening. The wild grass hills were just dripping with the rich golden glow of the evening sun.

I’m so glad we did this–not only do I see my mother in all her radiance and beauty, but I also hope it encourages those worried about age, size, comfort level, etc to dare to let a photographer (any photographer whose work you love) photograph you and your unique beauty.

This life flies by far too quickly, so let’s celebrate it!
