Ok friends, settle in for a wonderful proposal story. Joe contacted me some weeks back about his vision. He knew he wanted to propose in Chicago and was hoping to find a hotel balcony. The balcony would provide not only a gorgeous backdrop in the heart of the city, but also allow him to set-up the proposal itself in a most perfect and romantic way.

He settled on The Gwen Hotel, and when I arrived I met his parents who were busily setting the scene just as Joe had described. Red roses lined the pathway from the entrance of the room out onto the balcony where he would propose. Candles were interspersed between the flowers, and at the end of the pathway “Will You Mary Me” was written in old fashioned keys.

After capturing some detail shots, I took my place on the balcony behind the rose pathway. Lauren had no idea what was waiting for her back at the hotel:) When they arrived, Lauren followed the pathway out to the balcony with Joe close behind. She reached the end where the keys lay and that’s when Joe popped the question! She said YES and the rest was hugs, kisses, smiles, tears, laughter, and another pop: the champagne!
